Purpose: OC International-UK

Introduction

OC International-UK's ultimate purpose is to fulfil Jesus Christ's commission to his followers:
"Go and make disciples of all nations."

As part of the OC Global Alliance, we have a worldwide concern for this task. OCI-UK is a founding member of the Alliance, under whose auspices more than 500 staff are involved in evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, church growth, missions, and support services. Most OC staff trust God to provide a prayer and financial support team.

OUR MISSION:	To mobilise godly and effective church leaders to reach all nations.
OUR STRATEGY:	Using research, motivation, and training, we mobilise Christian leaders to reach their nations and beyond.

How We Work

WE ARE INTERDENOMINATIONAL. We partner with the whole Body of Christ.

WE ARE GLOBAL AND CONTEXTUAL. There are resident teams in more than 24 countries; as well, the Alliance carries out ministry in more than 65. Ministry is contextual to the culture in which it takes place, being designed in partnership with host country Christian leaders.

WE WORK IN TEAMS. Most often, ministry teams live close together, decide ministry and financial issues together, support each other emotionally and spiritually, and are accountable to one another.

WE HAVE TEAM-LED MINISTRY DECISIONS. Our ministry teams decide what ministry to do and how to do it - under the overarching philosophy and strategy that binds the Global Alliance members together. Ministry decisions are driven by research findings into the greatest needs of a country. Teams make decisions in partnership with Christian leaders in the country.

WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE. Each member and each team sets annual objectives; quarterly reports of progress towards these are shared with team leaders, area leaders and the sending OC centre.

BEING INNOVATIVE AND BEING PARTNERS. If it isn’t being done, and needs to be, we will consider doing it by God’s grace and provision. If another ministry is doing it and doing it well, we will support their efforts.

FAMILY. We believe in a balance between family and ministry, but the welfare of a family will never be sacrificed for the sake of ministry.

THE LOCAL CHURCH. We believe our job is to work with the church and help it be what God calls it to be. How this plays out is displayed in these examples:

We minister to the unreached through equipping and mobilizing the reached.
We plant churches by training indigenous church planters.
We are involved in youth ministry by equipping youth leaders.
We call this multiplying ourselves in others. As a result of this, and by the grace of God, we have a widespread influence.
